Rabat – The Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the National Museum Foundation (FNM) signed a framework partnership agreement to allow students to visit museums affiliated with FNM for free.

The FNM was created in 2011 to enhance and promote Morocco’s cultural and artistic heritage through its museums.

The recent agreement will provide free access for students and pupils every Wednesday and Friday. Students must book their visit beforehand and are to be supervised by guides.

This recent development suggests that the ministry and the foundation intend to promote Morocco’s heritage and incentivize young people to learn more about the history and culture of their homeland.

Museums are central to preserving the history of a country, and granting free access to students will likely encourage them to foster feelings of national pride and show greater interest in learning about their culture.

The agreement focuses on democratizing access to culture and arts among young Moroccans by providing equal opportunities in visiting museums.

In its press release, the Ministry of National Education said that the measure was implemented to use museums as a lever to learn and explore the complex and rich history of Moroccan civilization.

The partnership aims to encourage Moroccan youth to engage in creative endeavors, develop a taste for the arts, and grow more knowledgeable about the country’s heritage.

Morocco’s FNM recently celebrated its tenth anniversary and Moroccan philanthropist El Khalil Belguench donated timeless pieces of art from Moroccan greats such as Chaiba Talal and Mohamed Melehi.
