Rabat – Morocco’s Health Ministry has recorded 2,791 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
The ministry reported in its daily update that the total number of COVID-19 cases reached 552, 635.
The number of recoveries also reached 529, 853 following the recovery of 1,208 patients in the last 24 hours.
The ministry also recorded nine deaths related to COVID-19 The death toll due to COVID-19 reached 9, 427.
The Casablanca-Settat region reported the majority of the new cases in the last 24 hours (1, 1200) followed by Souss-Massa (426), Marrakech-Safi (334), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra 334), and Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (188).
To date, the number of active cases reached 13,335, including over 400 in critical cases.
With regard to the vaccination campaign, fully vaccinated patients reached 9, 608, 887.
People who received the first dose of the vaccines reached 11, 185, 961.
With Eid Al-Adha around the corner, Morocco’s government is urging citizens to remain vigilant and respect all preventive measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Morocco also decided to ban Eid Al-Adha prayers in mosques as part of the anti-COVID-19 campaign.
