Rabat – The Bayt Mal Alqods Acharif Agency sent medical supplies and equipment on Thursday to support victims of the ongoing crisis in the holy city of Jerusalem. Chaired by King Mohammed VI through the Al-Quds Committee, the agency operates as an Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) affiliate.
According to the agency, the medical supplies and equipment amounted to nearly $60,000 (MAD 536,300), funded entirely by Moroccan donations.
Two organizations in Jerusalem benefited from the shipment as the agency sent prescription drugs and medical supplies to al-Makassed Charitable Association Hospital, including medical equipment to the Arab Health Center.
Specifically, the agency sent ECG machines, electric suction devices, oxygen concentrators, sterilization platforms, and vital sign monitors.
The kingdom has a long history of supporting the Palestinian cause. In the midst of the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas in May 2021, King Mohammed VI reiterated Morocco’s unwavering support towards the Palestinian cause by sending approximately 80 tonnes of food supplies and blankets to aid the victims.

On the same note, medical supervisor of al-Makassed Charitable Association Hospital, Ali Al-Hussaini, said “whenever the hospital is faced with difficult times and suffers from shortages of medical equipment, we find the support of the Bayt Mal Alqods Acharif Agency.”
The Administrative Director of the Arab Health Center, Ahmed Sorour, added that the supplies came at a time when they were needed most.
Despite a decline in media coverage, Palestinians are still facing persecution at the hands of IDF soldiers and Israeli police forces. Al-Aqsa mosque remains a point of contention as Israeli authorities continue to suppress protestors and make arrests.
Following the death of prominent Palestinian activist Nizar Banat on Tuesday, protestors have held vigils across the territory.
