Rabat – Morocco has recorded a record number of 12,039 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
Having conducted 48,203 COVID-19 tests in the past 24 hours, Morocco has recorded 12,039 new cases, bringing the country up to 665,235 confirmed cases since the outbreak of the pandemic in Morocco.
During this time span, Moroccan health authorities recorded 72 COVID-19 related deaths, totaling at 10,087 deaths so far, as well as 7,350 recoveries, bringing the total number of people recovered to 590,042. There are currently 65,196 active cases of COVID-19 in Morocco.
Hospital occupancy has remained the same since August 4, standing at 41.2% occupancy rate, while both cumulative and daily incidence have risen. As of today, cumulative incidence rests at 1,825.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, while the rate of infection in the last 24 hours is at 32.8 infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
Moroccan health authorities have administered 25,542,596 doses of various COVID-19 vaccines, having fully vaccinated 10,733,482 people, while 4,075,632 people have only received their first dose of the vaccine regimen.
There are currently a total of 1,472 people in either severe or critical condition, of whom 423 were admitted in the last 24 hours. Of the total, 895 are on some kind of artificial respiration, with 51 being under intubation, while 844 are under non intrusive ventilation.
The Casablanca-Settat region registered the most new cases, with 3,616 infections and 25 deaths in the last 24 hours. The Souss-Massa region registered 1700 new cases and 11 deaths, while Marrakech-Safi registered 1413 new cases and 10 deaths.
The Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region registered 1,228 new cases and 2 new deaths, while the rest of Morocco’s regions registered under 1,000 cases each.
The rate of mortality in Morocco is at 1.5%, while the rate of recovery is at 88.7%.
