Rabat – The Japanese embassy in Morocco announced an event to promote studying abroad at undergraduate programs in Japan starting in October.
The education fair will be broadcast online globally throughout the month of October.
The first online session is expected to start at 8 am local time, while the second will be held at 9:30 am local time.
Online sessions aim for an interactive discussion in English where Japanese representatives will introduce their universities and answer questions.
A total of 22 Japanese universities will be present in the education fair, and will introduce their programs independently.
The University of Tokyo and Kyoto University, the most prestigious universities in Japan, will join the online session during the first week along with other universities.
Other well ranked universities such as Tohoku University, Kyushu University, and Nagoya University will present their programs and majors in the second and third week of October.
Participants are required to fill in a questionnaire to access the exchange information sessions.
Those willing to enroll in a Japanese-language school in Japan can also attend the sessions.
The last few years have seen an increase in bilateral diplomacy and trade between Japan and Morocco and as the Japanese language keeps growing worldwide, it increasingly became a topic of interest for many young Moroccans.
The two countries have signed a first Memorandum of Cooperation concerning land-use planning, town planning, infrastructure, and investment in March 2021.
In January 2020, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohcine Jazouli, and Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Keisuke Suzuki, chaired the fifth Morocco-Japan Joint Commission meeting in Rabat.
