Strong Winds To Hit Morocco Next Week

Rabat – Strong gusts of wind are expected to hit Morocco on Monday and Tuesday in several provinces across the country.

The General Directorate of Meteorology (DMN) said that the strong gusts of wind, ranging between 75 and 90 kilometers per hour, will be registered in the provinces of Al Hoceima, Benslimane, Berrechid, Casablanca, Chefchaouen, Chichaoua, and Driouch.

The wave of winds will also hit El Hajeb, Fez, Fquih Bensalah, Khemisset, Khouribga, Mediouna, Meknes, Mohammedia, and Moulay Yacoub.

Also set to experience the strong gusts of wind are the provinces of Nouaceur, Ouezzane, Rabat, Rehamna, Sale, Sefrou, Settat, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Skhirate-Temara, Taounate, Taza, and Youssoufia

Fairly strong gusts of wind ranging between 50 and 70 kilometers per hour will also affect the North-West, South-East, the south on Tuesday.

The windy weather will follow a strong heatwave that the DMN announced for Sunday, including in Rabat.

On Friday, DMN said that there would be a heatwave with temperatures ranging between 39 and 42 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

The heatwave will concern Beni Mellal, Benslimane, Berrechid, Chichaoua, El Hajeb, Kelaa des Sraghna, Fez, Fquih Ben Salah, Kenitra, Khemisset, Khenifra, Khouribga, Marrakech, Meknes, Moulay Yacoub, Nouaceur, Rehamna, Settat, Sidi Bennour, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Taounate, Taroudant, and Youssoufia.

During the same day, temperatures ranging between 35 and 39 degrees will also hit the provinces of El Jadida, Essaouira, Mediouna, Ouazzane, Rabat, Safi, Sale, and Temara-Skhirat.
