Rabat – This year, six Moroccan universities are included in the world ranking of universities produced by the London magazine “Times Higher Education.”
Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University of Fez came in first place among Moroccan universities, followed by Ibn Tofaïl University of Kenitra, Hassan I University of Settat, Hassan II University of Casablanca, Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech and Mohammed V University of Rabat. These universities are ranked between places 801 and 1201 of this world ranking.
At the global level, American and British institutions are at the top of the liste. We find Harvard University ranked first, followed by the California Institute of Technology, Harvard University, Stanford University, Cambridge University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University, the University of California at Berkeley, Yale University and the University of Chicago.
The Times Higher Education rankings have been compiled since 2004 and list 1,662 universities in 99 countries.
To produce the ranking, 13 indicators are used. They are grouped into five categories.
The categories are the working environment (30%), the number and scope of research (30%), the influence of the research (30%), the international reputation of professors (7.5%), students and researchers as well as connections with companies (2.5%).
