Rabat – Moroccan security services at the Mohammed V international airport in Casablanca arrested a French national that is subject to an international arrest warrant on Tuesday, October 12.
A statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said that the suspect is a 65-year-old man and is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the city of Benin.

DGSN said that the arrest is part of Morocco’s approach to strengthening security monitoring procedures at national border crossings, as well as the international security cooperation between Morocco and all international partners.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the arrested French citizen is suspected of being involved in a case where police in Benin seized 145 kilograms of cocaine.
Police in Benin seized the drugs from a container arriving from a port in South America in May.
Moroccan authorities placed the suspect in custody pending the extradition procedure.
