Rabat – A Moroccan man aged 28-year old was brutally stabbed earlier this week on Thursday in the Spanish city of Bilbao, local media reported.
According to Spanish news outlet El Espanol, at least 12 people chased the man to violently beat him.
The man was murdered as he attempted to defend himself against his assaulters, the newspaper said, adding that three of the twelve assailants were responsible for initiating the attack against the man.
After the attack, the Moroccan man entered the Abando railway station in Bilbao with a serious stab wound in his torso and collapsed in the hall.
The man was covering his wound with his hand while he sought help. He shortly died after being transferred to the Basurto hospital
According to the El Espanol report, the stabber was identified as a 16-year old unaccompanied minor.
The murder of the Moroccan man in Spain comes just a few months after the brutal killing of Younes, a Moroccan national in Murcia, southeastern Spain.
A Spanish gunman shot Younes dead in June while shouting anti-Moroccan slurs.
The gunman shot the Moroccan man three times in the chest.
According to witnesses, the 52-year-old gunman expressed his “discomfort” with the presence of Moroccans in public spaces.
“I don’t want Moors in the place. The Moors don’t have papers,” the man said.
The victim was shot while having a drink with his Spanish partner Andrea on the terrace of El Muelle, a “very popular” cafeteria among North African migrants.
