Rabat – Morocco’s government has decided to lift the night curfew, starting Wednesday, November 10.
The decision comes as part of the recommendations of Morocco’s Scientific and Technical Committee.
In its recommendations, the committee noted the improvement of Morocco’s epidemiological situation and the large national COVID vaccination campaign.
Traditionally, the night curfew started at 11 p.m. until 5 a.m, but its lifting means citizens and residents will no longer have to plan their late evenings or night schedules around the curfew.
The statement added, however, citizens will have to use the vaccination pass or a certificate of exemption from vaccines to access public spaces, including commercial establishments, cafes, restaurants, gyms, and hammams.
The same measure will be effective for domestic and international travel.
Despite lifting the night curfew and related controls, the government emphasized that it will continue monitoring COVID figures across the country to adapt its measures in accordance with the overall national epidemiological situation.
Urging the unvaccinated and those concerned with the third dose to go to the health centers placed at their disposal to receive the vaccine, The government concluded its statement by calling on everyone to continue observing the usual precautionary measures.
