Fez – The Fez-Meknes Regional Council has approved on November 10 a series of partnership agreements on a variety of areas during an extraordinary session held at the council’s headquarters.
Chaired by Abdelouahed El-Ansari, Chairman of the Council of the region, the meeting covered agreements concerning the establishment of regional mobile emergency assistance services at the level of prefectures and districts of the region.
The council additionally validated a “program of revitalization and enhancement” of local products and the establishment and expansion of university campuses in the region.
The members of the Council have confirmed conventions related to the creation of two new health centers at the level of the prefecture of Fez.
In addition, the board approved the marketing of the Fez-Agadir air route in collaboration with Air Arabia. The board also seeks the renovation and development of the Moroccan Press Agency’s (MAP) partnership and cooperation arrangement with the council.
Additionally, the regional council accepted agreements related to the acquisition of two plots of land assigned to the regional center of information and communication and the Ecopark Fez-Saiss.
The project of Ecopark Fez-Saiss site includes plans for 130 rental properties near the park. It will also contain restaurants, hotels, exhibition areas, a wastewater treatment plant, and green spaces.
The board of the council confirmed the construction and equipping of a new social emergency system to provide assistance to homeless people. The project, titled “SAMU social”, is made up of a group of non-governmental associations that provide assistance to the homeless.
The council has additionally approved the region’s budget bill for the year 2022.
