Rabat – The 18th annual GT Tested Reader of Global Traveler magazine celebrated Morocco’s national carrier as the best airline in Africa.
Royal Air Maroc received the award on Tuesday, December 14 in Los Angeles, during the Global Traveler annual ceremony, celebrating the winnings of airlines in multiple categories.
Royal Air Maroc announced that it was ranked fourth-best airline in the MENA region behind Etihad Airways, Emirates, and Qatar Airways. Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc, expressed satisfaction with the award, saying that it further motivates the company.
“We are happy and honored to receive the prestigious award, as well as to be recognized as the best airline in Africa… This Global Traveler Award motivates us above all to continue to move forward and improve, despite the difficult times that our sector is going through,” he said.
Global Traveler announced the winners of the awards last week.“We start with the winners that take us to and from all of the world’s most important gateways, facilitating the incredible opportunity we all have to experience the world’s fascinating corners and culture,” the magazine wrote.
Following Royal Air Maroc, Ethiopian Airlines is the second-best airline in Africa, followed by Kenya Airways, Air Seychelles, and Air Mauritius.
Royal Air Maroc won several similar accolades. One of the latest awards was from Skytrax. In September, Skytrax featured Royal Air Maroc among a group of airlines comprising the Oneworld alliance to win the 2021 Skytrax World Airline Award for Best Airline Alliance.
