Moroccan international Yassine Bounou has emerged as the best goalkeeper in the first half of the Spanish football league La Liga, outplaying other renowned goalkeepers in the league.
According to La Liga figures, Bounou has the best ratio of goals conceded per minute so far this year. FC Sevilla’s goalkeeper has conceded a total of 13 goals out of 18 games played, the equivalent of a goal every 144 minutes.
These figures set him ahead of other notable goalkeepers who play for well-established clubs.
Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon came second in line, conceding one goal every 123 minutes. Spanish giants Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois came third, with one goal every 107 minutes. Real Betis goalkeeper Rui Silva came fourth, conceding one goal every 99 minutes.
Since his transfer to FC Sevilla in 2020, Bounou has been an indispensable player in coach Julen Lopeteghui’s formation. His stellar performances have established him among the best in the Spanish league LaLiga.
