Rabat – Authorities in the city of Ouled Taima in the province of Taroudant, 70km from Agadir, have arrested a drug dealer involved in several crimes, including raping his own sister.
Newspaper Assabah reported today that the defendant has long sowed panic among locals in the small city and is associated with many crimes, including theft, rape, drug trafficking, violent attacks, and physical assaults with weapons.
The defendant was the subject of several arrest warrants nationwide for many of his criminal activities, Assabah’s report noted, adding that the police and gendarmerie have been tracking him for a long time.
According to sources close to the investigation quoted by Assabah, the accused was also involved in an attack at a mosque and the rape of his own sister while he was under the influence of drugs.
Actively sought by the police and gendarmerie services, he managed to continue his misdeeds by constantly moving and multiplying his hiding places.
His sister filed a rape complaint and an investigation was instantly opened to find the rapist.

The police managed to arrest him despite fierce resistance.
After searching the alleged culprit’s house, authorities seized several knives of various sizes, which the suspect is believed to have used to assault his victims, Assabah added.
The gendarmes also discovered large quantities of Mahia (eau de vie) he planned to sell.
The accused was taken into custody for further investigation and was confronted by several victims who confirmed their complaints after being informed of his arrest.
The judicial services of the gendarmerie will have to determine the crimes he has committed before bringing him before the King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Agadir.
