Rabat – Morocco confirmed 9,355 new COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. Health authorities reported that 10% of all the country’s intensive care units are now filled with COVID-19 patients, up from 2.7% at the beginning of the month.
In the past 24 hours, laboratories across Morocco carried out 35,115 COVID-19 tests.
Meanwhile, health authorities confirmed 6,687 COVID-19 recoveries in the same period.
With the new data, COVID-19 active cases reached 63,182, including 556 people in critical conditions.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Morocco in 2020, the North African country has recorded 1,068,941 cases, including 990,734 recoveries, and 15,025 deaths.
Morocco also fully vaccinated (first and second dose) 23,029,987 people. The number of people who received the first dose reached 24,626,900, while booster dose receivers mounted to 3,984,519.
In the past 24 hours, the Casablanca-Settat region reported 3,067 cases and six deaths, followed by Rabat-Sale Kenitra (2,352 cases, one death), Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima (1,002 casesàn Fez Meknes (817 cases, one death), Marrakech Safi (818 cases, one deaths), and Souss-Massa (484 cases, two deaths).
Beni Mellal Khenifra recorded 321 cases and one death, followed by Oriental (238 cases), Draa Tafilalet (113 cases, one death), Laayoune Sakia El Hamra (61 cases), Guelmim Oued Noun (58 cases) and Dakhla Oued Eddahab (24 cases).
