Rabat – Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, arrived in Amman on Monday to take part in the resumed 165th ordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level.
The meeting brings together Arab foreign ministers to continue discussions that were first launched during the initial session held on March 29, which took place via videoconference under Bahrain’s presidency.
Bourita is also expected to attend a consultative meeting gathering Arab foreign ministers. This parallel exchange offers space for coordination on key regional issues and shared diplomatic priorities.
The resumed session comes at a time when Arab states face a range of political and economic challenges, placing renewed attention on dialogue and collective action within the League.
Morocco’s participation reflects its ongoing engagement in Arab multilateral frameworks and its role in regional diplomatic efforts.
In April, Bourita also took part in an emergency ministerial meeting of the League of Arab States held by videoconference. The meeting focused on rising tensions linked to Iran, following a series of incidents that several Arab countries attributed to Tehran.
Ministers examined the political and security consequences of these developments and worked on elements of a common Arab position to defend state sovereignty and limit further instability.
During that session, Morocco restated its diplomatic line. Rabat condemned what it described as attacks against Arab states and expressed support for measures taken by affected countries to protect their territory and citizens, in line with international law.
