Rabat – 90% of professionals in the MENA region are optimistic about 2022, according to a survey.
While 80% of surveyed employees reported being satisfied with professional growth in 2021, 56% reported that finding a new job is a priority among their 2022 New Year resolutions, according to Bayt.com, a leading job site in the Middle East.

The 2022 New Year’s Resolution Poll revealed that 86% of surveyed professionals will invest more time in seeking remote jobs.
Preference for remote work is a rising trend among employees globally, according to The Economist. Data from the MENA regions seem to conform with the trend: 15% of respondents in a recent survey reported preferring 100% remote jobs, while 53% reported a preference towards a hybrid mode of working.
But employees do not prefer remote work for the same reasons.
52% report that remote work allowed them to work in a comfortable work area, 53% reported that remote work spared them the trouble of commuting to work, and 41% reported that remote working positively impacted their monetary savings, according to a survey from Bayt.com and YouGov, a market research company.
The survey suggests that employees believe remote work positively affects their personal life. 41% of respondents reported spending more time with family and friends when working from home, and 39% reported a decline in absenteeism rate.
Working from home is not without challenges, however, as data suggests. The same survey specifies that technical challenges pose a significant challenge for 41% of respondents.
Meanwhile, 36% of surveyed professionals reported that working from home can potentially blur the line between professional and personal life.
Concerns over working for long hours in isolation and the mental health issues this implicates also seem to be a major worry for 34% of professionals surveyed.
