Fez – The National Fund of Social Welfare Organizations (CNOPS) announced on January 7 new measures to simplify insured persons’ registration procedures. The process will make it easier to update personal data and declare beneficiaries.
This decision follows the CNOPS policy to facilitate access to the public sector’s Mandatory Health Insurance (AMO) services based on law no 55-11 requiring the simplification of administrative procedures.
A CNOPS press release indicated that the National Fund has adopted three measures to facilitate personal data of both newly-registered and previously-registered people, including through the digitalization of services.
The first measure concerns newly-registered people. Starting January 31, CNOPS seeks to provide new registrants with a new registration card containing their personal details, including their photo, their AMO registration number, and their electronic national identity card (CNIE).
This registration card will no longer need to be replaced when the insured person updates their personal data or declares one of their beneficiaries (spouse or children) to the National Fund.
The press release pointed out that the National Fund has developed a digital platform to allow employers to declare new employees and demand their declaration in both AMO and supplementary coverage.

The second measure concerns already-registered insured people. Starting January 31, these people are no longer required to renew their registration cards following an update of their personal data and a declaration of their beneficiaries.
CNOPS invites insured people to check their coverage status on the Fund’s website www.cnops.org.ma before filing any insurance claim.
It is worth noting that healthcare workers acting as intermediates for CNOPS payments can use the online service to check both the insured and the beneficiaries’ coverage status before submitting their files.
The third measure is the launch of an online service dedicated to insured people. This new service will allow them to digitally submit requests, update their administrative data, and declare their spouses and children.

A speech by King Mohammed VI in October 2021 kickstarted the process of expanding mandatory health coverage for all Moroccans in the coming years. The government plans to provide health and social security coverage to all Moroccans working in both the formal and informal sectors.
