Cables of condolences are going viral from world leaders, embassies, and celebrities, who were following up the tragic story of Rayan, a five-year old boy who was trapped in a 32-meter well in northern Morocco.
The UK Embassy in Morocco shared a tweet in which it offered its sincere condolences to the family of Rayan.

The embassy also applauded the extraordinary efforts of Morocco’s emergency services during the rescue operation to save the boy.
Fahad Al Taffaq, the UAE’s Ambassador to Nigeria, also tweeted his deepest condolences to the parents of Rayan, as well as to all “brothers” in Morocco and the “entire humanity.”
Benny Gantz, Israel’s Defense Minister, sent his condolences to the family of Rayan.

French President Emmanuel Macron also expressed his condolences to the Moroccan people.
“Tonight, I would like to tell Rayan’s family and the Moroccan people that we are sharing their sorrow,” he said on Facebook.
Mahmoud Refaat, President of the European Institute for International Law, joined world leaders and public figures in expressing sadness over Rayan’s death.
“My condolences to his family & all #Morocco. The news of the death of Rayan broke the hearts of millions around the world. Meanwhile world conscience MUST be shaken to death of thousands of children by starvation & bomb of #UAE & #SaudiArabia in #Yemen#ريان,” he said.
The US embassy expressed “deepest condolences” to the family of Rayan, writing: “Rest in peace baby.”
Speaking on behalf of all Palestinian people, Palestine’s Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayeeh expressed heartfelt condolences to Rayan’s family, as well as to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan government and people.
The Palestinian official said Rayan became an icon whose plight captivated and unified people and nations across the world despite differences in nationalities and languages.
In addition to politicians and celebrities, ordinary people from across the world expressed their deep sympathy and condolences to the boy’s family and the Moroccan people in general, sharing tweets to thank rescuers for their tireless efforts and selfless sacrifice.
