Rabat – King Mohammed VI has ordered the opening of 11 centers of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity as part of humanitarian actions to alleviate pressures on disadvantaged citizens.
The centers cover different medico-social care and training fields.
In his instructions, the King stressed the need for the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity to contribute to the strengthening of public health services and reduce the socio-economic impact of the pandemic on disadvantaged people, the foundation said in a press release.
The construction and equipment work were completed at the 11 concerned centers in 2021.
The centers will operate in six cities across Morocco as part of the foundation programs to expand local health care services and boost youth access to professional training.
The large-scale projects include local medical centers — one in Bni Makada in Tangier with a budget of MAD 66 million ($6.99 million) and in the Errahma area in Dar Bouazza (Casablanca-Settat region), with MAD 73 million ($7.73 million).
The foundation will also launch the services of the Mohammed VI National Centers for Disabled (CNMH) in two cities. One center will operate in Tangier with a budget of MAD 66 million ($6.99 million), while another will be inaugurated in Agadir with MAD 25 million ($2.64 million).
The new facilities will bring the number of CNMH networks that are operational in Morocco up to eight in total.
Fez will also have a new center for chronic diseases specializing in the treatment of diabetes with a budget of MAD 5 million ($529.992).
The foundation will also launch services at a schooling center, with the goal of helping people aged 12 to 20 who are without a diploma or a job to integrate into development programs. The schooling center will be in Ben M’sik in the Casablanca region for a budget of MAD 14 million ($1.48 million).
Three other projects will also begin services, including a training center for youth and women in Fahs Anjra (MAD 17.5 million or $1.85 million) in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima province, a center for women and children in Mers El Khir, in Skhirat Temara prefecture near Rabat, and a pedagogical center for Hearing Rehabilitation in Tangier.
