Morocco will host the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) from July 2 to 23.
Four additional teams will take part in this year’s WAFCON, bringing the total number of participants to 12.
CAF’s ambitions to promote additional events for women and provide more chances are reflected in the addition of four teams to the tournament.
In addition to Morocco, Tunisia, Zambia, Burundi, Botswana, South Africa, Togo, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon and Uganda will take part in this year’s African women’s footballing event.
Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses automatically qualified to the WAFCON 2022 as the host country.
The Lionesses of the Atlas have already begun their preparations for this great appointment.
The Moroccan women’s Football team participated in the second edition of the VisitMalta Women’s International Trophy that was held earlier this month between February 16-22.
The Atlas Lionesses won the title after two beautiful victories against Malta (1-0) and Moldova (4-0).
