Rabat – Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc has announced two new flights to help repatriate Moroccans in Ukraine.
In a tweet, Royal Air Maroc said that it is scheduling two new flights on March 5 from Bratislava and Warsaw to Casablanca.
The company offers repatriation flights at the fixed rate of MAD 750 ($75).
The offer is exclusively for Moroccans in Ukraine. The flights are in line with Morocco’s measures seeking to assist Moroccans wishing to return home amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Last week, the Moroccan government called on Moroccans in Ukraine to leave the country through crossing points with Romania, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary.
Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc scheduled nine more flights for Moroccans fleeing Ukraine.
Three flights will take place on March 2, while six flights will take place from March 3-4.
As of Tuesday, the number of Moroccans who left Ukraine through border crossings reached 2,030.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the number is divided between Poland (835), Romania (549), Hungary (346), and Slovakia (300).
Morocco also dispatched 20 consulate officials including four consuls generals to help Morocco’s embassy teams to welcome Moroccans and provide them with necessary assistance in Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, and Romania.
Morocco called on its citizens to leave Ukraine on February 12 amid the crisis between Ukraine and Russia.
