Rabat – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has published updates for passengers in preparation to relaunch international flights to and from Morocco on February 7.
The Moroccan carrier said that passengers over 18 years old should present a vaccination pass, a negative PCR test taken less than 48 hours before departure, and a passenger health form printed, filled, and signed.
Passengers can download the file from https://onda.ma/form.php.
Passengers over six years old and younger than 18 have to present a negative PCR test taken less than 48 hours and have to fill in and sign the printed form.
Passengers younger than six years old will not need a PCR test and a vaccination pass, according to Royal Air Maroc. Passengers in this category will only need to print, fill in, and sign the form.
Royal Air Maroc warned passengers that additional measures will take place upon arrival at Moroccan airports, including antigenic tests for passengers over six years old.
PCR tests will also be conducted for randomly selected passengers, Royal Air Maroc added.
Morocco decided to reopen its borders to international air travel after recommendations from a scientific committee monitoring the epidemiological situation.
The borders have been closed since November 29 after the appearance and spread new COVID variant Omicron.
Many expressed satisfaction with Morocco’s decision to reopen its airspace for international travel, including tourism professionals. Workers in the sector suffered job losses amid a sector-wide economic crisis.
Many professionals in the sector took part in protests held to urge the government to answer their demands after they experienced financial hardship due to the border closure and subsequent slump in tourism revenue.
Airlines also lauded Morocco’s decision, with many announcing resumptions of flights to and from Morocco on February 7.
