Rabat – Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour and the Deputy Vice President at Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Kyeh Kima have inaugurated the extension project of the “Bouznika Park Industries.”

The extension project, which covers an area of 25 Ha in Bouznika, is part of the Compact II cooperation program, between Morocco and the US, with MCA-Morocco Agency carrying out the work.

The implementation of the cooperation program focuses on developing a new model to reinforce sustainable industrial parks, as well as renovating existing industrial zones.

The inaugural ceremony was held in the presence of the Governor of Benslimane Province Samir Yazidi, the Managing Director of MCA-Morocco Malika Laasri, MCC’s Resident Director in Morocco Carrie Monahan, Cap Holding’s Chief Executive Officer Chakib Alj, and representatives of other stakeholders.

The projects also focus on strengthening public-private partnerships (PPP) and promoting environmental and social sustainability in the Casablanca-Settat region.

The industry and trade ministry and the MCA-Morocco pledged in 2020 to work for the development and management of three industrial parks in the region.

For the “Bouznika Park Industries” project, the public sector contributed with $5 million while the private company Cap Holding invested $11 million.

With an aim of further optimizing public and private investments, the project could attract private investment of up to $75 million and  create 4,000 new jobs.
