Rabat – Balearia and GNV will open new ferry routes linking Morocco to Spain and other European countries, highlighting the re-establishment of relations between the North African and European countries.
The Spanish Balearia ferry company announced the reopening of routes on Friday, April 8. As well as opening routes to Spain, the ferry company will also link Morocco with Italy and France.
Included in the move is the reopening of a passenger ferry line that connects Morocco’s Nador with France’s Sete. This ferry will start transporting passengers on Sunday, April 17, and will leave Morocco’s port of Nador at 6:00 P.M. to the French port of Sete.
The company also highlighted the health requirements recommended by the French Ministry of Health to enter the country.
These conditions include a full anti-Covid-19 vaccination passport for vaccinated travelers, and a negative PCR test result, performed less than 72 hours before traveling, for unvaccinated travelers.
According to reports by a number of news outlets in Morocco, the GNV ferry company will also re-open two routes that will link Sete’s port to Tangier and Nador, starting from Thursday, April 14.
As well as a route connecting Italy’s Genoa with Morocco’s Tanger, the two ferry companies also announced routes from Morocco to Spain, between Barcelona and Nador, and Barcelona and Tanger.
Morocco and France suspended all maritime travel and flights until further notice back in November 2021 due to the spread of the Covid-19 Omicron variant.
