Rabat – Yassine Bounou is the number one candidate to secure the Zamora trophy for the best goalkeeper in LaLiga.
If confirmed, Yassine Bounou will be the first goalkeeper in Seville’s history to win the award.
Spanish sports news outlet Marca is already listing Bounou as the most likely in a list of potential candidates to win the award.
The news outlet shows Bounou conceded only 24 goals in 31 played games.
To win the Zamora award, Bounou and the other potential candidates are required to have played a minimum of 28 games throughout 38 days of LaLiga.
The player needs to also play a minimum of 60 minutes per match.
According to Marca, Bounou, who is also known in Spain’s LaLiga and Spanish news outlets as Bono, “earned the right to be considered Sevilla’s best player this season.”
Second on the list of Marcas’s expected candidates for the Zamora award is Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois with 29 conceded goals and 35 played games.
Villareal’s Rulli comes third, followed by Unai Simon from Athletic.
Morocco’s Bounou is one of the best Moroccan football players. He is a key player in the national football team. The goalkeeper has earned applause from international sports media as part of the goalkeepers with the fewest goals scored on his net in Spain.
