Rabat – This year, Morocco World News (MWN) celebrates its eleventh year as Morocco’s go-to English news source.
Originally founded by two brothers eager to tell Morocco’s stories to the world, the online news source has become a popular outlet serving the vast Moroccan diaspora, diplomats and academics, and Morocco-watchers around the world.
MWN aims to provide Morocco’s perspective in language that is understandable to the average reader, while providing the unique details and insights that are often missed in daily news coverage.
The MWN team consists of a group of experienced analysts, editors and commentators that collaborate daily with our young talented news writers. We are proud to have over 70% of our team made up of some of Morocco’s brightest young female journalists, who provide unique and dynamic content for our youthful audience.
From its conception, MWN has served to break through the Francophone-Arabic bubble, and provide the English-speaking world with on-the-ground reporting, unique Moroccan perspectives and opinions, and engaging social media content on all major platforms.
Over the past five years alone, MWN has served over 30 million readers with articles that have been visited more than 80 million times. MWN’s audience is one of the youngest among Moroccan news outlets, with over half our audience within the ages of 15-34.
With offices in Rabat, Fez and Washington DC, MWN prides itself on its independence, its variety of featured opinions, and its role as a hub for the Anglophone community within Morocco and its diaspora.
MWN would like to thank the millions of readers that have made our continued success possible, as well as promise to continue providing you with relevant, up-to-date and unique Moroccan news reporting and analysis.
To celebrate this festive new milestone, MWN will host a variety of panels, workshops and events across Morocco.
After eleven years of digital interaction, MWN is proud to host and organize several events to bring us closer to our readers, interact with interesting public figures and spark dialogue and debate on some of Morocco’s most important topics.
