Rabat – US actor Kevin Spacey, who became infamous after a slew of #MeToo revelations, is facing four new charges of sexual assaults against three men in the UK.
The British Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced on Thursday that one of the charges is due to “causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent”
Two of the alleged incidents took place in London in 2005, while others took place in 2008. The accusations further include sexual misconduct in Gloucestershire in western England in 2013.
The alleged victims are now aged between 30 and 40.
The prosecution’s office decided to announce the charges after a review of evidence collected by the Metropolitan Police Service.
This is not the first time Spacey faces similar accusations. In 2017, reports showed that Spacey had sexually assaulted actor Anthony Rapp, making international headlines.
Rapp said Spacey attempted to assault him when he was 14, following a party held by the American Beauty star at his own apartment.
At the end of the party, Rapp claimed that Spacey picked him up and “placed him on his bed, and climbed on top of him.
Spacey took to his social networks to apologize, saying that he did not remember the encounter with Rapp.
“I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been 30 years ago,” wrote the House of Cards star.
He said that if he behaved as Rap described “I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years.”
Spacey also acknowledged that he had “relationships with both men and women. I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man.”
