Rabat – The number of students sitting for this year’s baccalaureate exams has increased by 8% compared to 2021.

Morocco’s Minister of Education, Preschool, and Sports Chakib Benmoussa today highlighted Morocco’s ongoing preparations and measures to ensure that the national exam takes place in “an atmosphere of transparency, integrity, and equal opportunities.”

These preparations include securing and preparing testing centers, printing and transferring exam papers to the centers, as well as organizing the correction and scoring process.

Benmoussa made the statements today during the weekly government council headed by Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch.

According to the minister, more than 1,500 centers have been made available for the baccalaureate exams to take place, as well as the correction of papers, which will take place directly after.

The national baccalaureate exams for science, technology, applied arts, and economy majors will take place between June 20 and 22, while students in the literature department will sit for exams on June 23 and 24.

All baccalaureate candidates have received “a practical guide” via their Moutamadriss accounts. This guide contains organizational and regulatory documents to help students prepare for the national exam.

Students across Morocco have benefited from the  “Awrach” educational program that provides students, especially baccalaureate candidates, with support classes to prepare them for exams.

The initiative provided much-needed support after Morocco adopted remote education for almost a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The country reinstated in-person education in 2021.

The results of the baccalaureate exams will be announced on July 1, whereas the make-up session will take place between July 15 and 19 for all branches, with the results announced on July 22.

Last year, the success rate in the baccalaureate’s regular session reached 68.43% in comparison to 63.08% in 2020.
