Rabat – Moroccan entrepreneur Arif Esa was selected as one of the most influential CEOs of 2022 by the Indian Business Touch Magazine.

Esa is a businessman with expertise in a range of sectors, including infrastructure, digital transformation, blockchains, and financial services that address pressing socioeconomic needs.

He founded Cable Exchange Group in 2014 to provide better infrastructure services in low and middle-income nations before moving his focus to digital banking and the concept of the cashless society.

Created in the aftermath of the 2008 global economic crisis, the Cable Exchange Group benefited from a wide pool of talent that allowed the company to quickly expand its operations and attract clients. The group eventually raised over $10 billion for government projects, helping Esa reach a net worth of  £90 million.

After the group’s success, Esa realized during the COVID-19 pandemic the growing need for digital transactions. So he developed a Fintech solution moneyIN in 2022 to allow unbanked populations in Morocco complete online transactions.

“All a moneyIN client needs is a working mobile phone number to send money, receive money, and pay anybody anywhere in the world, from their mobile phone without a bank account,” Esa explained.

As well as supporting Morocco’s digital transformation in the financial sector, the platform hopes to expand into the South African, Asian, and European markets which will allow it to provide “immediate payment across the globe.”

As the Cable Exchange Group and moneyIN expand their operations, Esa aspires to accomplish his goals and bring “honor” to his organizations.

“It’s important to me that all employees share the company’s vision and goals; therefore, that’s what drives me to do my job every day,” he said.

Recalling his duties as a CEO, Esa noted that aspiring CEOs should have three “essential skills,” including “managing people and expectations and steering a company to success.
