English Premier League club Chelsea FC has reportedly given green light for the transfer of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech to Italian giants AC Milan.
According to the Italian journalist and transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano, the London-based club has agreed to let Ziyech go and embark on a new journey with AC Milan, who are keen to sign with the Moroccan player.
“Hakim Ziyech can leave Chelsea this summer, confirmed. AC Milan are interested in signing him – talks are already ongoing with the player’s camp,” the Italian journalist wrote in a Facebook post.
He also took to Twitter to give more details about the potential transfer, underscoring that Ziyech’s agents are in direct talks with AC Milan’s board as the player expressed his willingness to join the Italian giants.
The Rossoneri, as the Italian club is popularly known, has been closely monitoring Ziyech in recent weeks, repeatedly showing their eagerness to sign the Moroccan winger.
Earlier this week, the British news website football.London reported that AC Milan has offered €5 million to convince Chelsea to let the player go on a loan move. The Italian club also offered an additional 20 million as a buy option in the event that Ziyech’s loan move goes according to plan.

Having joined Chelsea in 2020 after a standout campaign with Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam, Ziyech’s time at Stamford Bridge didn’t turn out as the fans had hoped.
The player’s repeated injuries and lack of form have seen him regularly left out of Chelsea’s starting squad. In the 2021-22 season, the 29-year-old forward only scored eight goals and delivered six assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.
Despite struggling with his lack of regular playing time, Ziyech played an important role in the Blues’ campaign to win the European Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup in the 2020-21 season.
With his relatively young age, many believe that the Moroccan player still has a great potential to compete at the highest level as he only needs more playing time to regain his confidence and recover his Ajax form.
