Laayoune – Ihssane Hadir has won the 6th edition of the Arab Reading Challenge in Morocco.
Hadir stood out in the national contest by beating over 1 million Moroccan students who took part in this year’s Arab Reading Challenge.
At a closing ceremony held online in Rabat last week, Chakib Benmoussa, Morocco’s Minister of Primary Education and Sports, crowned Hadir and the winners of the Prizes of “Most Distinguished School” and “Best Supervisor.”
Hadir is “the champion of the Arab Reading Challenge at the national level, and will represent Morocco in the final Arab qualifiers to be organized next October in the UAE,” Ben Moussa said.
Hadir is currently in the second year baccalaureate at the Ibn Tufail high school in Khouribga.

Out of 10,444 participating schools, Mokhtar Jazoulit School in the Rabat Educational District won the title of Most Distinguished School in the sixth edition of Morocco’s Arab Reading Challenge.
Meanwhile, Boujemaa Belhand was awarded the title of Most Distinguished Supervisor in Morocco for his remarkable work in mentoring, empowering, and training students to compete in the challenge. Belhand won the title out of a total of 12,200 supervisors.
The Arab Reading Challenge is the biggest reading competition in the Arab world. This year, over 1 million Moroccan students participated in the contest.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives, a charitable organization headquartered in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, launched the Arab Reading Challenge in 2015.
