Rabat – Spanish low-cost carrier Volotea recently announced new flights to Marrakech from Lille, a city in northern France.
The travel-focused news outlet Tourmag shared the news on Friday, saying that the new route is set to operate starting from November 12.
The 3h30 min Lille-Marrakech connection is scheduled for Saturdays, with the flight set to leave Lille at 4:15 p.m. to land in Morocco at 7:45 p.m. The rerun flight would depart from Marrakech at 8:15 p.m. to arrive in Lille at 11:45 p.m.
Besides the Marrakech route, Volotea plans to launch three new routes from its new base in Lille to Spain’s Canary islands, Lanzarote and Tenerife.
The flights are scheduled for Saturdays and will turn operational on November 12 as well. Details on the flights can be found on the airline’s website.
Another once per week route was announced by the Spanish low cost carrier and it is destined to Spain’s Canary island, Fuerteventura, on Sundays. The route will become operational on Sunday, November 13.
Volotea currently offers 28 destinations from Lille airport.
Volotea’s new Lille-Marrakech route is expected to serve French tourists interested in the warm weather of Marrakech as well as Moroccans living in the Lille region.
Marrakech is considered a leading tourist destination. The city that once served as a Moroccan capital is today the ambassador of Moroccan culture and gastronomy.
