Casablanca – Morocco’s government has announced it will issue tests to medical students returning from Ukraine in order to determine their university placement.
Returning medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry students will be asked to complete integration tests on September 24, Morocco’s Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui announced on Thursday.
The minister said that 13 tests will be issued to 800 participating students, with the results being revealed on the same day.
These examinations will take place simultaneously on the same day, at the University Mohammed VI of Health Sciences in Casablanca (for medicine), at Cheikh Khalifa in Rabat (for pharmacy), and at the International University of Rabat (UIR, for dentistry).
To better master the scientific terminology in French, students who pass the competitive tests will be accompanied for 6 months to a year. This will ensure their adaptation to the national curriculum, particularly at the language level, since they had previously studied in Ukrainian or English.

Miraoui also stated that the Ministries of Higher Education and Health had found a solution for students undertaking specialization. It will organize 6-month internships at Moroccan medical universities and national public hospitals.
A platform will soon be created for these students to submit their applications, he added.
In addition to medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy, the minister indicated that a meeting with various departments would be conducted by the end of September to establish a solution for the reintegration of other students.
