Rabat – UAE’s multicultural family destination Global Village confirmed on Thursday that Morocco will have a pavilion at the upcoming event.

The new season is set to open on October 25 and will feature 27 pavilions representing continents including Africa, Europe, and the Americas, as well as countries including the UAE, KSA, Qatar, Egypt, China, India, Iran, Lebanon, Palestine, Japan, and South Korea.

The organizers noted in a press release that each of the pavilions is expected to reflect “the distinctive personality and cultural diversity of the country or region they represent, through local arts and crafts, national foods, cultural entertainment and authentic products.”

The Global Village’s 27th season will also feature 43 kiosks from 13 Asian countries along the new pedestrian street called Road of Asia. The road will display products originating from Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Brunei, Laos, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, and the Philippines.

The planning and construction of the village are “on track for October 25th opening,” said Mohamed Sharaf, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Holding Entertainment.. “We are all looking forward to an unmissable line-up of new attractions, shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences.”

Season 26 of Global Village concluded on May 7 after welcoming a record-breaking number of guests, amounting to 7.8 million people, since its opening on October 26, 2021. This season, the event will last from October 2022 and April 2023 and the organizers work on attracting national and international tourists to the family-friendly facilities.

The Morocco pavilion is a hot spot in the village as it has traditionally attracted millions of tourists interested in Moroccan gastronomy, music, and artisanal products such as soaps, creams, and scrubs.

The Moroccan presence in international tourist attractions in Dubai further expands to the well-known Dubai Expo 2020 which attracted more than 24 million visitors. The Moroccan pavilion for the expo was notably kept for the new “environmentally-friendly” Expo City Dubai.
