Casablanca – After the success of the event’s 2016 edition in Marrakech, the Moroccan city is set to host the 8th edition of the International Single Window Conference from September 26 to 28.
As part of Morocco’s pan-African commitment to the emergence of a modern, competitive, and prosperous African economy, the conference aims to introduce the concept of single windows and promote its implementation in Africa.
The forum will also focus on sharing the concept of the single window, and raising awareness for the implementation of this concept worldwide and its contribution to boosting the competitiveness of the trade companies, the organizers said in a statement.
This is in addition to encouraging the establishment of regional single windows in the African context and highlighting the international standards that underpin this concept.
The forum will be organized by Portnet SA, Morocco’s National Counter of Foreign Trade Procedures, in partnership with the National Ports Agency (ANP) and the African Electronic Commerce Alliance (AACE).

The conference will feature several international experts from diverse backgrounds — policymakers, business leaders, and actors in the international trade ecosystem.
Throughout the three days of the event, participants will engage in debates and exchanges about various topics including digital transformation and the use of technology for efficient, inclusive, and sustainable international trade, vowed the organizer’s statement.
They will also discuss ways of collaboration and regional and international interoperability between single windows, it added.
In addition, the participants will address the significance of the Single Window ecosystem in promoting and developing intra-African trade, as well as the role of innovation and disruptive technologies at the core of future Single Windows.
Several conferences, workshops, and panels are planned in the program of this meeting, which will also be an opportunity for the sharing of experiences, the exchange of best international practices in the automotive sector, and the presentation of the latest innovations related to single windows and cross-border trade.
