Rabat – Omar Moro, President of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region Council, met with government representatives from the Spanish autonomous community of Andalusia on Tuesday, October 4, to strengthen ties between the two neighboring regions.

The meeting marked the presence of a delegation representing the regional government of Andalusia led by the Secretary General for External Action Josep Enric Millo i Rocher.

Also present at the meeting were Rabie El Khamlichi, director general of council services, and Rafia El Mansouri, vice president of the council, as well as Ayman El Ghazi, President of the Commission for Partnership and International Cooperation and Moroccans of the World, according to a statement from the regional council.

Given the shared history and close proximity of Morocco and Spain, this meeting provided an opportunity to highlight the positive and cordial relations between the two countries in general, and the regional government of Andalusia in particular.

According to the statement, these factors pave the way for promising opportunities for bilateral cooperation, to address shared challenges and strengthen trade and economic exchanges between the two countries.

Additionally, the meeting provided a chance to consider how to develop models of collaboration, particularly in the fields of education, cultural tourism, social economy and solidarity, environment, renewable energy, and the digitization of administration.
