Rabat – The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) unveiled, this Friday, the official video for “Light The Sky,” the official anthem of 2022’s Qatar World Cup.
The song features the Moroccan stars Manal Benchlikha and Nora Fatehi, alongside Emirati singer Balqees Fathi and Iraqi artist Rahma Riad.
“Light the Sky” was also produced by Moroccan producer RedOne, who serves as FIFA’s Creative Entertainment Executive.
Arab fans were pleased with this year’s selection of singers, widely sharing comments on social media platforms praising “the power of Arab women.’’
Moroccan fans were especially thrilled about the Moroccan trio Fatehi, Benchlikha, and RedOne.
Manal Benchlikha gained recognition in the male-dominated rap scene through her incorporation of Moroccan culture and tackling of social issues in her songs.
The singer previously told Morocco World News that she uses her music videos as a medium to address topics crucial to Moroccan society such as gender stereotypes and feminism.
Nora Fatehi, a Moroccan-Canadian Bollywood actress, also never misses an opportunity to celebrate her Moroccan roots.
The actress and singer collaborated with the Moroccan band Fnaire to release an Arabic version of the Indian song “Dilbar,” artistically melding the cultures of Morocco and India together.
RedOne, a MoroccanSwedish artist and producer, has worked with various megastars in the music business, such as Lady Gaga, Enrique Iglesias, and Jennifer Lopez.
He joined FIFA as its Creative Entertainment Executive in late 2021, with his first track produced for the coming World Cup, “Hayya Hayya,” releasing in April 2022.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will take place from November 20 to December 18 and will see participation from 32 teams.
