Rabat – A Royal Air Maroc flight is flying Morocco’s national football team along with a sports delegation to Qatar a week ahead of the 2022 World Cup, which will kick off on November 20.
The national carrier adorned its airliner with a World Cup themed livery to celebrate and cheer on the Atlas Lions.
Member of the Royal Football Federation’s Steering Committee Abdelmalek Abroun is heading the national team delegation. Abroun will represent the FRMF’s president Fouzi Lekjaa.
The delegation includes seven football players, including Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti, Yahya Atiatallah, Yahya Jabrane Munir El Kajoui, Jaouad El Yamiq, Azzedine Ounahi. The rest of the team will join soon.
The national team’s head coach Walid Regragui called up 26 football players to feature in the World Cup, including Hakim Ziyech, Abderrazak Hamdallah, Achraf Hakimi, and Bilal El Khannouss, among others.
Prior to the World Cup, Morocco’s Atlas Lions are set to play a friendly match against Georgia in the UAE on Thursday, November 17.
The match is part of the Atlas Lions’ preparatory campaigns. The national squad also played two friendly football matches against Chile and Paraguay.
During the World Cup, The Atlas Lions’ will play against Croatia on November 23, while the game against Belgium is set for November 27. Finally, the Atlas Lions will play against Canada on December 1. The team is part of Group F.
