Rabat – Moroccan international and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Achraf Hakimi ranked as the best right-back in the world, according to sports outlet Sports Brief.
Describing Hakimi as “one of the most sought-after players in the world,” Sports Brief highlighted his outstanding dribbling and scoring skills.
“Hakimi is also an expert at taking freekicks, scoring an important one for his national team, Morocco. He has 3 goals and three assists so far this season,” added the report.
The same source described Hakimi as “swift and lethal in front of the goal.”
The ranking placed Manchester City’s Joao Cancela as the world’s second-best right-back. The Portuguese player “has flair as he dribbles and offers creative assists,” the ranking indicated.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC’s Trent Alexander-Arnold came in third position, with Sports Brief highlighting that the English player is “currently among the top assisters in the English Premier League.”

Hakimi is considered to be a key asset and player for the Moroccan national team. With a transfer value of €80 million (MAD 886 million), the 24-year-old is among the top-valued players in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, according to the CIES Football Observatory.
In addition, the PSG star ranked as the most expensive football player in Africa in June 2022, the International Center for Sports Studies (CIES) indicated.
Morocco will begin its quest for World Cup glory on Wednesday against Croatia in Group F. The game will take place at 11:00 Moroccan time at the Al Bayt Stadium.
Hakimi promised that the Moroccan squad will do their best during the Qatar World Cup. “We are young people with ambition, and we want to do great things together and do our best for our country,” he said.
