Rabat – Brazil’s lineup is ready for tonight’s match against Serbia, with the Brazilian team promising football fans to see “a better Neymar” at the 2022 World Cup.
“His preparation this time has been different. In 2014 he got injured just as he was playing so well, and in 2018 he came into the tournament in a different way because he had a serious injury so hadn’t played much,” Brazil’s captain Thiago Silva said this week.
Predictions and previews on the match have been sweeping social networks and online sports websites hours prior to the game, which will kick off at Lusail Stadium.
While some are betting on Brazil for being one of the favorites to win the title this year, others are determined to be surprised by a different outcome.
“A Serbia win wouldn’t be as seismic as that Saudi Arabia success but it would deal a major blow to a Brazil side that is under huge pressure back home to deliver a first World Cup in 20 years,” Sports news outlet Football London said.
Several other news outlets stressed the same prediction, emphasizing that Brazil can expect anything from its rival.
“Having watched South American rivals Argentina suffer a shock defeat in their opening group game, Brazil cannot assume that Thursday’s contest with Serbia will be a catwalk,” Sports Mole emphasized.
Brazil, however, remains many reporters’ favorite to win tonight’s game, which will take place at 20:00 Moroccan time.
The Brazilian team is unbeaten in their previous 15 World Cup group matches.
The Latin American country won the World Cup five times, securing victories in over 73 matches.
Serbia meanwhile qualified for four World Cup tournaments out of the last five.
