Rabat- Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani reportedly received a phone call from King Mohammed VI on Tuesday, November 29.

During the phone call, King Mohammed VI congratulated Qatar’s Emir on the launch of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, praising him for the excellent organization and wishing success to the participating teams, reported Al Sharq news outlet.

Qatar’s Emir was seen cheering for Morocco’s national team at Al Thumama Stadium on Sunday in a video that has since gone viral.  In celebration of the Atlas Lions’ victory over Belgium, the Emir was seen applauding as the game came to an end.

Morocco defeated Belgium with an outstanding performance that garnered international attention and was hailed as “historic.”

Prior to their victory over Belgium, Morocco faced Croatia on November 20 and drew 0-0.

During Morocco’s game against Croatia, a video of former Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani holding the Moroccan flag also went viral.

In the video, the former Emir of Qatar can be seen cheering alongside his wife Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Al-Missned at the Morocco-Croatia match while smiling and waving the Moroccan flag. The Emir then extended the flag to Sheikha Moza, and they continued to wave it together.
