Rabat – Tunisia has become the first African team eliminated from the World Cup after Australia’s win against Denmark.

Wahbi Khazri scored a goal for Tunisia, in the 58th minute. France’s Antoine Griezmann scored a goal but was disallowed following a VAR check.

Tunisia’s dream to move to the round of 16 has gone due to Australia’s win.

Despite the  1-1 draw,  Tunisia lost its chance to qualify for the World Cup after Australia scored a goal against Denmark.

Tunisia has not been able to secure several points during the first phase of the competition.

During its opening game against Denmark, Tunisia secured one point with a 0-0 draw, followed by a loss to Australia 1-0 on November 26.

Tunisia is part of Group D along with France, Denmark, and Australia.

France has been topping Group D standings with six points following its win against Australia 4-1 and two goals against 1 with Denmark.

France is determined to clinch another World Cup trophy following its win in 2018.

France also won the World Cup in 1998.

Senegal is officially the first African country to move to the second round following its win 2-1 against Ecuador on Tuesday.

Three other African teams are running to secure qualification to the next round, including Ghana, Cameroon, and Morocco.

Morocco’s Atlas Lions are going to face Canada on Thursday during its last match in this group. Morocco has four points following a 2-0 win against Belgium and a goalless draw with Croatia.
