Rabat – Coca-Cola, the official sponsor of Morocco’s national football team, will display the authentic balls used in the Atlas Lions’ opening match against Croatia and their match against France in the 2022 World Cup semi-final in several Moroccan Cities.
The event will take place between December 29 2022 to 4 January 2023, with the first opening set to be held in the city of Casablanca from December 29 to 30.
The exhibition will then go to Marrakech from December 31, 2022, to January 1, 2023, followed by Agadir , from 3 to 4 January.
Tangier will follow between 6 and 7 January 2023.
In a statement, Coca-Cola’s director in Morocco Islam Ouchaou said, “These stands and the semi-final ball are a way to bring some written history to Qatar, Morocco, and share it with as many people as possible.”
“It is also a way to thank and congratulate our national team that made history by becoming the first Arab and African team to reach the semi-final of a World Cup while promoting Morocco’s values internationally,” she added. “For Coca-Cola, it was important to celebrate such a feat with Atlas Lions supporters across Morocco,”
The Al Rihla is the official match ball for the World Cup 2022 while the Al Hilm is the official ball used in the semi-finals and the final match.
Al Rihla means “the journey” in Arabic, while “Al Hilm” means “the dream.” The balls came as a new evolution in the sport, as they packed sensors and technologies inside them that helped with gathering stats and making officiating calls.
