Rabat – Convergent media reports suggest that Morocco is set to host the FIFA Club World Cup 2023 most likely scheduled to take place in February. The United States and Abu Dhabi are also bidding to host the competition.

However, international football’s governing body FIFA have not released any official announcement of the dates and the potential venues.

Saying that the competition will run from January 1 to February 12, Info Sports reported that the FIFA Club World Cup 2023 is set to be hosted in Morocco following Morocco’s Royal Football Federation’s bid request.

But other football news sources have asserted that Abu Dhabi, not Morocco, will host the competition. The competition was previously held in Abu Dhabi in 2009, 2010, 2017, 2018, and in Morocco in 2013 and 2014.

Additionally, the United States is reportedly one of the countries contending to host the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup after negotiations with Abu Dhabi or China “failed.”

Morocco hosted the Club World Cup competitions in 2013-2014, which Bayern Munich won after defeating Morocco’s Raja Casablanca (RCA) 2-0 in the final.

Real Madrid won the 2014 title after defeating Argentina’s San Lorenzo 2-0 in the final.

The FIFA Club World Cup is held every year, and the host country always organizes it for two years in a row. Seven team’s face off for the championship throughout a roughly two-week period.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino previously welcomed Morocco’s request to host the competition highlighting that the country has the right human capacity, logistics, and sports facilities to ensure the smooth running of the competition.
