Rabat – The second edition of the national prevention campaign against cyberbullying and cyberviolence is taking place today in Rabat, under the theme “report to stop cyberbullying against children and youth.”
The campaign, which will run from December 1 to 20 aims to raise awareness of the need for greater cooperation among all social actors to ensure better protection of children and youth online, reported Moroccan News Agency (MAP).
The same source added that this year’s edition will place particular emphasis on the value of reporting as a tool for preventing cyberbullying against children and youth.
This event will also shed light on current statistics on cyberbullying and cyberviolence in Morocco, as well as the initiatives taken by pertinent organizations to address this problem.
The campaign will feature roundtables, awareness-raising sessions in schools, training workshops for professionals, and civil society on reporting.
Additionally, the protocol for dealing with cyberbullying cases in schools will be implemented and tested by teachers who will be trained as part of the pilot project to establish resource teams dedicated to the treatment of cyberstalking cases in schools.
The awareness campaign will also be conducted on social networks, in the media, and through sharing informative videos, interviews, and programs that focus on the theme.
The campaign is initiated by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, the Moroccan Center for Polytechnic Research and Innovation (CMRPI), in partnership with the Council of Europe, among others.

In November 2021, Morocco, France, Mexico, and UNESCO signed a declaration to address school bullying and cyberbullying named “Campeche Declaration for the prevention of violence and bullying at school.”
The declaration seeks to eradicate bullying from educational institutions by 2027.
