Rabat – Morocco international and Sevilla FC striker Youssef En-Nesyri’s impressive hat trick on January 4 helped Sevilla qualify to the round of 16 of Spain’s Copa del Rey.
The game saw Sevilla defeat Linares Deportivo by a score of 5-0.
The Sevilla striker’s hat trick has made the rounds on social media and has captured international headlines.

En-Nesyri scored Sevilla’s first two goals during the first half. He then went on to conclude Sevilla’s goalscoring festival by netting the fifth goal in the 74th minute.

“Sevilla moves into the last 16 of the Copa del Rey thanks in large part to Youssef En-Nesyri’s trio of goals,” Espn wrote.
This is not the first time that the Sevilla striker has made headlines in the past couple of weeks.
On December 10 , En-Nesyri dazzled the world with a spectacular header against Portugal in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
The goal secured Morocco’s historic qualification to the semifinals of the global tournament, sealing the Sevilla striker’s name in golden letters in the history of Moroccan — and African — football.

According to beIN Sports, En-Nesyri jumped 2.78 meters when scoring his historic header against Portugal.
In April 2021, En-Nesyri became the best Moroccan goal scorer in one season in Spain’s La Liga’s history.
En-Nesyri also won the La Liga Santander Player of the Month award in the same period.
The Moroccan footballer is a graduate of Mohammed VI Football Academy in Sale, near Rabat. He played for Malaga before joining Leganes in 2018. He then moved to Sevilla FC for a record fee of €20 million (MAD 220 million) in 2020.
En-Nesyri’s contract with Sevilla is set to expire in 2025, and his current market value is €15 million (MAD 165), according to Transfer Market.
