Rabat – Morocco’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc has canceled some flights to and from Paris initially scheduled for Tuesday, February 7.
“Following the public service strike notice in France on February 07, 2023, all airlines were asked to reduce their flight schedule for the day of February 07, 2023, at Paris Orly airport and Royal Air Maroc accompanied its customers by transferring them to other flights,” the airline said.
Royal Air Maroc’s statement urged the company’s customers scheduled for canceled flights AT764 and AT765 to take flights AT770 and AT771 flights scheduled to take off on February 07, 2023.
Passengers who were bound to take flights AT777 and AT776 were transferred on board flights AT623 and AT622 on February 7, the statement detailed, adding that passengers who do not wish to travel through flight replacements can either receive reimbursement for their tickets or change flight dates depending on availability of without paying any additional costs.
“It should be noted that for any change of destination, the possible difference in taxes are the responsibility of the passenger,” Royal Air Maroc wrote.
France has been experiencing strikes and protests for several days over Emmanuel Macron’s pension reform plans.
The Macron administration seeks to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64. The plan has sparked uproar and national strikes that significantly affected several services across France, especially transportation.
