Rabat – Moroccan-Swiss singer Elam Jay released on Saturday “Hangover,” the first song in his Africa-inspired album.

In a statement dated February 11, the singer’s label said “Hangover” is the first in a series of collaborations with African artists.

The new song “embodies the fresh and vibrant reflection that emerged in Elam during his trip to Zanzibar,” the statement noted, adding that the song merges several genres, such as Amapiano, Afro, and the iconic Moroccan music “Gnawi.”

Commenting on his new song, Elam said that he was “captivated by East Africa and its rich artistic culture.” The celebrated singer also spoke of his dreams of “creating a space that celebrates and sublimates the entire African music industry, offering every talent the opportunity to blossom and flourish.”

The new song is among several projects the artist is dedicating to investing in pan-African music.

Before releasing “Hangover,” Elam launched “Rise the Nation,” a sub-label to his primary label “Jay Vibe Records.”

Rise the Nation is focused on creating African-inspired music and supporting next-generation artists in Africa.

The label is set to expand to become a comprehensive pan-African media platform with a platform dedicated to music and video streaming. In addition, the label plans to organize music festivals to showcase African talents.

A world-renowned Swiss singer and music producer of Moroccan origins, Elam Jay is now the owner of a Platinum record; he also owns and manages a label and a dancing school.
