Rabat – The country’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc said it is forced to cancel more flights to and from France on March 24-25.
“Following the public service strike notice in France, all airlines were asked to reduce their flight schedule for these two days by 30%,” Royal Air Maroc said in a statement.
The company said that it is offering several solutions to help its customers, including transferring passengers to alternative flights.
Ticket holders who are not wishing to travel through the presented alternative flights can receive a refund for their ticket or change their flight to or from the same destination or any other destination within Royal Ai Maroc’s network in Europe.
“Any change of destination, any difference in tax, will be borne by the passenger,” Royal Air Maroc said.
Royal Air Maroc has been sharing several similar updates due to the ongoing strikes in France.
Protesters, which include Air Traffic Controllers, have been protesting the unpopular pension reforms for weeks.
Macron’s government introduced the reforms, seeking to push the retirement age from 62 to 64 years old.
Over a million people have protested the reforms. French police sparked outrage for using aggressive violence against protesters.
During protests on Thursday, police used tear gas and arrested more than 80 people across the country.
Several videos depicting police’s use of violence against protesters went viral online.
One of the viral videos shows police beating civilians, including women, and the elderly.
Many took social media to denounce France’s police brutality, describing the excessive use of force as a “terrible repression” from the French government.
